Gerik/Tasik Temenggor

As we passed by the town of Gerik, which is also known as Rest Town, it gave us a feeling that it’s a sleepy town, due to the fact that there are few people on the road and most of the shop houses along the main road were closed. However, we heard from a relative that there’s good food in this town. Too bad we didn’t have the time to stop and walk around the town. Exiting the town, we still had some distance to cover before we reached Tasik Temenggor, but not by a lot.

When we neared our destination, we could see a beautiful view around us. We were on high ground and we had to cross a bridge to get to our destination. Between us and the bridge was a lake. It truly was an amazing sight! As we drove across the long bridge, we could see the clouds hovering around the tips of the mountains and the far-stretching lake. Once we crossed the bridge, we made a right turn into Belum Rainforest Resort to park our car in their open air car park.

Once we stepped out of the car, the air felt different. Probably due to the sights we were taking in. The scenery that greeted us was breath-taking, and we took our time to walk around the place to take pictures.

Halfway through, the sky became dark from the rain clouds. Despite the overcast sky, we still continued around the place to view the breath-taking scenery from different angles, until the first few droplets began to fall, which immediately began to escalate into a heavy downpour. We quickly ran into the car and took shelter before we got fully-drenched. We took about 5 to 10 minutes to gather ourselves before making our next move to Kota Bharu.
